Huntington’s Disease is a rare, inherited disease that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. The disease can cause movement disorders, cognitive disorders and psychiatric disorders and there are different stages to the disease. This webinar will explore what Huntington’s Disease is, who is affected, how it is diagnosed and what the symptoms are.
Tune in to hear from our local expert Associate Research Fellow Gabrielle Phillips from the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI) about her research into better understanding the disease and chemistry changes in the brain. Robyn Russell from Huntington’s NSW ACT will also be online to tell us about the support services available to those living with Huntington’s and their families.
