Membership – Why join?

One important way to support the Association is to join Huntington’s NSW ACT, paying a small annual membership fee. A healthy community association needs members to support and guide it.

The more (active) members we have, the better we can understand the needs of the HD community and speak on your behalf.

Members are kept informed about Association activities and research developments through our newsletter which is produced three to four times per year. Members are invited to contribute to our community surveys of your needs and wants.

How does being a member benefit the HD community?

As a member of Huntington’s NSW ACT, you are demonstrating your ongoing support of the aims and objectives of the Association.

What can I do as a member?

Becoming a member allows you to vote at the Annual General Meeting or Special General Meetings on changes put forward by the board of directors. You can also nominate yourself or vote for others to serve on the board.

Memberships currently cost $22 per year.

Membership is valid for one year. Membership payments are due on an annual basis near the start of the new financial year.

Anyone wanting to join the Association must submit an application with payment. The board is required by our Constitution to review and approve your application.

Everyone is welcome

We understand not everyone is interested in being a member.

You can receive newsletters and other communications from the organisation without being a member.

Clients do not need to be members to receive services.

You can volunteer without being a member.
