CORPORATE SUPPORT

WE ARE PLEASED to share with you that the Westpac Foundation has made a $10,000 grant in support of our West Ryde Art and Therapy programs.

This fabulous grant occurred because a Westpac employee nominated our organisation to apply for the grant and encouraged other staff within Westpac to vote for Huntington’s NSW ACT.

In addition to the grant, Westpac has offered non-financial support in the form of a Westpac group employee who will act as a local ambassador for our organisation. The Ambassador’s role is to tap into resources, networks and profiling opportunities across the Westpac group. the ambassador is selected based on a strong interest and passion for the community and may already have a connection to Huntington’s.

We are looking forward to working with our ambassador (from a Huntington’s family) who is currently snorkeling in the Caribbean.

We have also been fortunate to gain a Board Observer through the Westpac Community Support Program.

Through a staff member’s involvement on our fundraising committee the Macquarie Bank foundation supported the Walk 4 Hope in 2018 through the matching donation program with a donation of $10,111.74. Every year Suncorp staff volunteer for the Parramatta Walk 4 Hope. They also raise funds which are matched by Suncorp.

The Suncorp team has been invaluable to the walks every year: they acted as marshals on the walking route, organised the music and children’s games as well as some keen karaoke lovers in the mix.

Many organisations assist not for profit organisations by matching staff donations.

This is a great way to involve your workplace and can double your donation.

The merger implementation is in full swing and just about everyone is getting involved in some way, shape or form. All staff are in the process of having discussions with our CEO, Lenni, and our HR Specialist, Lyn, about transitioning into the new HA organisation. We are still expecting that most of the staff employed by State Associations will transfer to HA. In addition to our CEO, we now also have another two of the senior management team selected, and both are starting this month - Leah Atkinson as the Head of Finance and Corporate Services and Basil Mabuza as the Head of Community Programs and Services.
