In 2015 Stephen Dernocoure, a highly experienced art facilitator, was engaged to guide a small client group in finding their voice again through the use of visual and poetic art forms (pilot). Participants enjoy the calmness of creativity, the pleasure of friendship and a renewed sense of well-being.
Due to positive client feedback we were happy to adopt the program into our service offering.
Every fortnight since creative beings inhabited Elsie Court Cottage to discover their inner artist. Yes, people shared in their common HD experiences, but here they were able to safely explore the person that they are through drawing, painting, poetry, storytelling, laughter and play. Our people crafted beautiful artworks and found a fresh way to communicate and formed new friendships and support.
The motto became “Don’t worry we are here!”
In the last year the group’s abilities reached new heights through the creation of personalised canvas (storytelling), life drawing, and poetry art forms.
We are very grateful to have worked with Stephen Dernocoure, a brilliant art facilitator.
He carefully considered each person’s unique circumstances and assisted in navigating each person’s art journey.
